Coach RJ Roberts
Our Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at West Bay, Coach Roberts, is a 10-year professional football player that has experience with the NFL/AFL/CFL. An alumni of Troy University, Roberts got his degree in Sports Fitness Management with a minor in Recreation. Football has always been his passion and enhancing the lives of other young men at the high school, college, and professional levels through coaching and strength & conditioning. His goal to give back to the next generation of players with more opportunities, helping them navigate through life with mentorship and sports training at critical times in their lives so that they can be effective on the field, in school, and in their futures.
Coach Jackson
Coach Jackson named Head Men's Basketball coach at West Bay Collegiate Academy In June 2025. Coach Jackson most recently served as an NCAA Division1 Assistant Coach at Austin Peay State University during the 24-25 Basketball Season.
- Coach Jackson Built relationships with Prep School and College Prospects, aid in plyer development , on court skill workouts / practice.
-Produced scouting reports assist in game coaching, Helped lead the MBB program to athletic department-high 3.57 team GPA.
-August 2024 APSU was invited to play 3 games in Spain vs top talent in Barcelona & Madrid.
-Served as Community Service Coordinator, Helped lead the Men's Basketball program to a Gold Medal status for the United States Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Each Member of the program earned 103 volunteer hours for 2024.
-24-25 Season Included games vs Butler , Tennessee, Vanderbilt. APSU handed Butler its first loss to a mid major in 7 years 68-66. Governors earned 7th seed in the ASUN conference Tournament before falling in the 2nd round of the ASUN conference Tournament. ASUN Freshmen of the year and 2 ALL-ASUN selections.
Jackson previously served as the head coach at NJCAA Division I Gordon State, where he led the Highlanders to their first Georgia Collegiate Athletics Association Tournament berth in three seasons.
During the 2023-24 season, he coached sophomore Derrick Brown to a GCAA All-Region selection after averaging 13.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. All six sophomores (Derek Brown, Xavier Boyd, Zion Brown, Jackson Henry, Jamar Moore, Jackson Ogelsby) on Jackson's team continued their collegiate careers at four-year institutions.
Prior to his time in Barnesville, Georgia, Jackson was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at USCAA Penn State Fayette (2022-23), handling the recruiting of high school, postgraduates, and JUCO athletes in Pittsburgh and across the Northeast.
Jackson and head coach Andy Hendrick led the Roaring Lions to a 17-win season. Following the season, Torian Jenkins earned PSUAC West Player and Defensive Player of the Year honors, in addition to being named a USCAA All-American Honorable Mention after averaging 24.8 points per game. He was followed in scoring by Desilas Jones, who averaged 22.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game.
Before coaching at Penn State Fayette, Jackson was the boys' varsity head coach at Camp Jewell House Academy (2019-21). He helped lead JHA through the COVID-19 pandemic season, posting a 17-15 record during the 2020-21 season, with a 6-0 mark in the Freelance Region.
Assistant football Coach
Coach Kenneth Butler, is a native of Philadelphia, Pa. He has over 13 years of coaching at various levels from Middle School to Semi-Professional. He has 2 years of collegiate experience (Shippensburg University), and 2 years of Semi-Professional football experience (Fayetteville Cardinals). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State University. Kenneth is a retired military veteran (Army). He passion for coaching is that he loves to see the growth of individuals in life by using the skills taught from football, while teaching the bond of brotherhood and promoting achievement on/off the field.
